Sunday Night Praize!

August 23, 2010 — Leave a comment

If you have missed any of Alex’s “It’s All About Me” series, do yourself a favor and listen to the messages at http://www.victorywired.com. This series concludes next week and is sure to be one to which we regularly refer in the future. Got something you’re struggling with in your life? Bad habit? Sin pattern? This series can help you get complete victory and deliverance.

Thanks Alex for sharing your heart so transparently and the dealings of God that have prepared you to bring this awesome series. This time has also helped me to focus on some writing and making plans and preparation and establishing strategy for taking Victory to the next level this Fall and in 2011. God has some amazing things up His sleeve!

It’s obvious the Holy Spirit is doing a powerful work in so many lives in Victory. But I want to say how thankful I am to see the deep work of repentance going on in so many men’s hearts. Numerous brothers have come to me personally to confess areas and bring them out into the light of God’s grace so they could be dealt with. This is a true mark of revival. Work Holy Spirit!

There has never been a better spirit in Victory than there is right now. More people are coming forward to help serve in multiple areas. Praise God! May your tribe increase. If you’re not serving and want to, let us know – we will hook you up!

It’s so awesome to see our youth ministry growing during this season – we’re totally cranked about what the Lord is doing through Jeremy Soto. He’s a fantastic young guy with a beautiful family. He and Heather have hosted the Sunday service the last two weeks. Victory youth worship team is adding new team members and these kids are worshiping with passion – something I’ve wanted to see for a long time. Crazy amazing things are in store for Victory Youth.

There is a spirit of faith! People are realizing that God’s favor has dramatically increased. And we’re trusting God more and believing Him for greater things than we’ve ever seen.

I’m meeting so many new people every week. It’s exciting to see all of you so pumped about what God is doing in your lives and you’re telling others about it and they’re coming to check it out! Praise God – we’ve set both attendance and giving records this month and this is still summer (until after Labor Day). The two largest offerings we have ever received in Victory’s history have both come this month. God is overwhelming us with His provision!

And . . . thank the Lord for that provision because we’re about to do some expansion. All of our children’s ministries are full to capacity. We’ll be meeting this week to discuss enlarging into some other areas in our facility or in the mall to meet the growing demand. I was told this morning that we had to actually turn some children away because our rooms were full. We’re meeting this week to rectify this space problem and to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Praise God for these good kinds of problems!

Internal ministries are busting out all over and Scott Grafton is doing an amazing job building a winning team. We’re thankful to add Haley Vest as our new director of children’s ministries at Victory. She’s going to help us take kids ministry to a whole new level. We also welcome Chris and Amy Gossman – both worship leaders from a previous church in Iowa. They are working closely with Haley to build a children’s ministry worship team to provide children’s church with the best possible worship experience.

This is what happens when a church starts moving in unity! It’s a new day in Victory! Praise God!

So thankful for those who’ve made new commitments/Fresh Starts in Christ this month – that will never get old! And that is what all of this above is all about – meeting people where they are and bringing them into relationship with Jesus.

Don’t forget our “Raise the Roof” Praise Night and Ice Cream Fellowship next Sunday night, August 29th at 6p. Gonna get our praize on! We have SO much to thank Him for!

Love you so much church!

* It’s a new day in Victory Church – we’ve been baptized in a servant
spirit. About 40 people have volunteered to help in our upcoming
VBS – unheard of! Thank God for willing hearts with servant’s attitudes.

* My long-time friend, Chip Buhler did a bang-up job teaching
Colossians 2 today – “Rooted in the Revelation of Christ.” Thank God
for true lasting friendships – Chip is one of them.

* Thankful for hungry hearts to build a foundation in their lives.
19 people in the Purple Book Group last week.

* We witnessed the true spirit of restoration in Kody and Whitney’s
testimony this morning in how God put their marriage back
together. We serve the “God of another chance!”

* Lives are being changed weekly – that never gets old. Over 25 Fresh
Starts last Sunday; 4 today. God is moving!

* So thankful for the indescribable presence of God in our worship. It
continues to increase and amaze me weekly.

* I have to pinch myself. What I’ve dreamed of and prayed for and stood in
faith for years has actually been happening for months now at Victory.

* The Lord continues to add talented, capable, skilled leaders with right hearts
and willing spirits. There is more true TEAM in Victory right now than
there ever has been in our history. God has delivered us from territorialism –
the spirit that says, “this is mine!” and a true spirit has been birthed that says
“this is God’s!” and I’m privileged to be a part!

* God shook us to change us so that He might fill us this last year. True
SHIFT has happened in Victory. This next year will be even more dramatic
as God shows up to say, “Now I can use you for my glory!” Hallelujah!

Open your eyes to see the King of Glory working in your life this week! Open
your mouth and tell others what He’s doing! Pray for God’s continuing and increasing FAVOR on Victory Church.  I want everyone to know how much I love each of you and all that God is doing in and through your lives.  Have a crazy amazing week!

Sunday Night Praize!

July 5, 2010 — 1 Comment

Paul wrote the epistle to the Colossians while in prison, yet he said over and over how THANKFUL he was for the work of God going on among the Colossian believers. No matter how difficult your circumstances, you can still CHOOSE to be thankful. Folks can tell the choice I’ve made by what comes out of my mouth. Let’s BE THANKFUL!

Worship was through the roof this morning! Thanks Holy Spirit and team!

7 Fresh Starts this morning – 1 new salvation, 6 in response to the Lordship of Christ over every area of their lives, 3 baptisms. Praise God!

There is a REVIVAL of servanthood in Victory! I’ve never seen so many people calling, emailing, coming forward and sharing with team leaders their desire to serve. May your tribe increase!

There honestly is a true spirit of TEAM that is developing and building among us. (This is not just hope so – I’m serious!) Nothing is impossible when people covenant to walk together in faith and in unity!

I can’t wait to see how God is going to “show out” in all of our lives this week! Expect it!

“Giving thanks to the Father. . .” (Colossians 1:12)

So very thankful for all that the Lord is doing among us at Victory.

* It was a tremendous weekend with the best Ministry Team Meeting we
have ever had. People are stepping up to the plate and taking
responsibility to see that needed areas of service are covered. I have to
say how wonderful it is to do Kingdom work when we have a team of
leaders who all have hearts that want to, and abilities that can get the
job done with excellence and all of that with a right spirit and attitude.
With that combination, we really can take the Delta for Christ!

* The Presence of God in our services – can never get enough of that!

* “When you make the main thing the main thing, God takes care of all the
other things!” ~ from “The Principle of Importance” One Thing #3

* 8 Fresh Starts Sunday morning – that’s always a rush to see God working
in people’s lives.

* Thanks to Burney, Abbey and Scott – you nailed it on “Born Again”

* Thanks to all the various teams who come early and stay late to make
everything flow smoothly!

* Thanks to Michael Rushing for the new carpet in both nurseries.

A few observations:

Today was our first day back after our vacation in Florida. It’s so great to be able to leave town for a few days and know that there are talented, capable people who love God with all their hearts back at home, who will do things with excellence and see to it that things get done. Thanks Alex for two great messages the last couple of weeks. Greg and the band – you guys are doing great! Thanks Jack Murphy for covering hospital visitation while I was away. Simona – you keep us all in line! Our team rocks!

There’s no place like home! Being away for a few days makes you appreciate all the wonderful things that are here when you get back! My own house, bed. More importantly than those, our church and the amazing people whom I love with all my heart!

4 Fresh Starts in Christ this morning! It’s always a rush to see hands going up to commit to Christ! May it only increase in Victory!

It’s not what you know. It’s WHO you know! (2 Timothy 1:12)
God’s not afraid to create a little mess to deal with yours. He’s provided everything so that your test can become your testimony!
– From today’s “One Thing” message

Thanks to the gracious listeners this morning. After driving in 15 hours yesterday, I’m surprised I could make a subject and a verb match – and yet the Spirit of God graciously blessed and moved the hearts of people. Praise God!

Don’t forget Purple Book Group tomorrow night in the Victory Cafe from 6-7p.

Have a blessed week!
